This bungalow in Park Street, in a quiet location on a great plot of land, was calling out for transformation in to a 5 bedroom home, extending to the back and up to another level.
We wanted to create a feeling of space and light with maximum natural light flooding the house through bi-fold doors, a stair window to bring light in to the hallway and 2 dormers each at the front and back of the house which also served to maximise room space. The white and glass staircase also leant itself well to the light and airy feeling of this family home. The room at the front right of the house was extended forwarded in line with the front line of the house to create a larger downstairs room.
The old pebble dash external wall surface was removed (always a fun job!) and the home was given a fresh modern white rendered look. With developments, we always like to finish off the complete look with landscaped gardens, patio and new fencing.
And we know that ensuites are increasingly requested in the modern home. This room had 2 ensuite bathrooms upstairs, plus a family bathroom shared by 2 other bedrooms. With multi-generational families now living together, it is also increasingly popular to have a downstairs bedroom with bathroom and this home also had a second master bedroom downstairs with ensuite and walk-in closet, ideal for a less mobile person if required.
There was also plenty of living space in this home to include an office, front reception room and utility room, along with the open plan lounge, kitchen, diner that opened out on to the patio and garden beyond.
