About Us
Making your dream
home a reality
"Revamp were an incredible company who worked tirelessly to complete our extension to a superb standard"
The Business
A love of building. An eye for interiors. A genuine desire to help people create their dream home.
We're Mac and Emma, the husband-and-wife team behind ReVamp Home Improvements. We share a passion for turning a property's potential into a beautiful, thoughtfully finished home. What makes our work worthwhile is seeing what the transformation means to the people living there: somewhere they feel comfortable, proud to welcome friends and family, and happy to come home to.
How ReVamp began
We established ReVamp in 2006, initially developing properties of our own before expanding into building and renovation projects for customers in St. Albans and the surrounding areas.
Having built and lived in many homes ourselves (we've moved, a lot!) we understand how much thought, investment and emotion goes into getting a home right. That experience shapes how we work with our customers today.
Our services have grown to bring together design, planning, building, project management, consultancy and interiors, supported by a trusted network of specialist tradespeople. All our sub-contractors are familiar with the
high-quality standards and delivery timelines we expect and Mac co-ordinates
them like clockwork when running a project. Bricklayers, plumbers, electricians, plasterers , carpenters, roofers, decorators, landscapers and many more.
ReVamp Interiors formally launched in 2022, building on Emma's longstanding involvement in designing and finishing our properties, down to the interior detail.
In 2023 ReVamp built it's first eco-home for a customer, and we've not looked back since. All of our new builds are now constructed with energy efficiency in mind, well insulated and air tight, fitted with MVHR (mechanical ventilation), air source heat pumps and solar energy.
Today, as a result
of Mac & Emma's passion and commitment to building high-quality, energy efficient, luxury homes, ReVamp is
recognised locally as one of the leading builders of choice. Hear what customers have to say about ReVamp here.
“We were extremely pleased with the work undertaken by ReVamp on the rear extension to our house. They came highly recommended and exceeded all of our expectations. ReVamp is of an extremely high standard and we found Rodney (Mac) and his team willing, respectful, very hard working and reliable. At every step in the process we were consulted, advised and kept up to date with progress. Their customer service is first class”

Meet Mac
Rodney McNamee,
aka “Mac”, is the main man behind ReVamp and responsible for overseeing all of ReVamp's building projects. He brings hands-on experience, energy and a practical approach to solving problems, co-ordinating all the trades and supplies that keep projects moving forward at pace.
A well-run operation
saves you significant time and money. Mac's a whirlwind, but you
can be assured your building project will move forward swiftly and precisely,
communicating prompting with you along the way where decisions need to be made.
Over the years Mac has become very familiar with
planning legislation, dealing regularly with both the Planning Office, Building Control and Service providers. He has a good eye to recommend how to get the most out of a
property, whilst understanding what can be done whether under permitted
development or with planning permission.
Mac is a problem solver. He’s had many hurdles to
overcome through years of building and renovation work – he’s all about getting
to the route of any problems and finding best solutions to move things forward.
Mac does not cut corners. Even if you can’t see what’s behind a wall
or under the foundations, he will go above and beyond in ensuring the house is
sound, solid and well insulated.
Finally, Mac is a bit OCD which makes for an
interesting combination with a builder, but he prides himself on keeping a
clean, organised site.
“Mac's can-do attitude set him apart from the other builders, and he showed genuine interest and enthusiasm in helping us design it. He's focused on solutions rather than problems, and is an excellent communicator and project manager. Mac is very responsive to phone calls and messages, sorts things out as soon as they're mentioned and sticks to the schedules he sets, helping to eliminate a lot of the stress that comes with building work. Mac has a great team and network of trustworthy tradespeople. The extension was built on-time and on-budget, and we're really pleased with it. Thank you, ReVamp!”

Meet Emma
Emma brings together a love of interiors and practical experience gained from shaping the homes we've developed over the years.
After formally retraining and gaining a diploma from the The Interior Design Institute, she launched ReVamp Interiors to share that experience more widely, and guide ReVamp's customers on all the interior decisions that need to be made along the way too.
Her approach starts with you: how you use your home, what you're drawn to and how you want each space to feel and function. From layouts and lighting to colours, materials and finishes, she helps bring those choices together into a home that feels considered and personal.
For Emma, the reward is seeing a space become somewhere its owners truly love spending time.
Emma also likes a bit of 'wow' factor - making a statement entrance, choosing a statement piece of furniture, getting bold with colours, or finding that perfect wall covering for a space. A home should be personal, somewhere to create memories, but also eave a lasting impression for many years to come.
"Emma provided such an excellent service. I had a clear picture in my mind of what I wanted but after speaking to Emma and with her invaluable knowledge of design, colours, fabrics, flooring, furniture she put together the most wonderful mood board turning my drab living room to a warm snug which was exactly what the family wanted. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She project managed the job from start to finish. I will definitely be using her services again"
