Lounge Redesign, St. Albans

Here are the sample boards presented to a customer following a design consultation for her lounge.   The customer in this Edwardian home wanted help with colour, furniture selections and layout to create a comfortables snug as a family and teen chill zone.   The client also wanted to be bolder with colour whilst having warmth and working with some of the existing period features of the room like the fireplace and picture rail and possible retention of a family heirloom chair.  In presenting a couple of options to the customer I integrated the fireplace and chair with some of the boards presented, introducing alternative chair to consider.   I also demonstrated the effect of using the picture rail to introduce a bolder colour to the room, and making a feature wall above the fireplace with a carefully selected wallpaper, with a few wallpaper options presented.    A floor plan was also incorporated for spacial visualisation.

The customer loved the designs, settled on the first option shown here, and will be implementing in the months ahead so I'll some more pictures afterwards.  The last picture is of their current lounge.  Scroll to the bottom for the customer's testimonial.

"Emma provided such an excellent service.  I had a clear picture in my mind of what I wanted but after speaking to Emma and with her invaluable knowledge of design, colours, fabrics, flooring, furniture she put together the most wonderful mood board turning my drab living room to a warm snug which was exactly what the family wanted.  Nothing was too much trouble for her.  I will definitely be using her services again".
