Browse photos here of this new home ReVamp built in 2018, that had real kerbside appeal from the outside and electric gates opening on to the driveway.  We always look to leave a minimum of 1m side access to get to/from the garden easily down the side of the house, although often we leave 1.2m as this then allows for a mini-digger to get down the side, so ideal if you're doing any landscaping after you've finished the property.
